At the start of the meet, the chief recorder imports the meet from the meet manager into the Wylas Timing server. For the remainder of the meet they cycle through the following steps:

Select and marshal an event which notifies all the devices that an event is ready to run. This will cause all the devices to display relevant information about the event. Eg the Wylas Display will show each lane and the name of the competitor.

The starter will fire the starting pistol which causes the race clock to start on all devices.

As athletes reach the end of the pool the timekeepers will stop the clock on their Wylas Timekeeper apps. This will cause the time to be transmitted to the Wylas Timing server which will average or otherwise interpret and record the times. The Wylas Display screen is automatically updated with the race results. Showing each athlete’s name, time and race position.

When the race is over the recorder finalises the race and the results (times, places and disqualifications) are transmitted to the meet manager software.
