Frequently asked questions
Do I need internet to run your system?
No, internet is not required.
We provide a router with the system that all the devices connect to this is offline and will not require any internet. If you need an internet connection during your meet our system can also be set up to work with this.
What meet managers do you integrate with?
Wylas Timing integrates with all of the worlds largest Meet Management software, including Hytek Meet manager and Splash.
You can find more information here. If you cannot see your meet manager on the list then contact support and we can see what options are available.
Can Wylas Timing integrate with touchpads?
Yes, Wylas Timing supports integration with all brands of touchpads except for Daktronics.
All that is required is to take the existing banana socket outputs from the touchpad and plug them into the Wylas Timing Touchpad Adapter which is then plugged into the audio socket of the Wylas Timekeeper Android device.
Total timing accuracy when using an electronic starter and touchpad is around the 3 millisecond mark.
What happens if I forget to press stop. Can we edit the time?
Yes, the recorder is able to edit times so that the adjusted time will be sent to the meet manager. If there is more than one timer then it may just be better to enter no time for that watch and use the times from the remaining watches.
Are we able to disqualify an athlete?
Can we print race results?
Yes. You can print race result straight out of the Wylas Timing Recorder.
Whenever a race has been finalised the Event Results button will become enabled and clicking on it will generate a printable page showing the results across all heats of that event.
How long does the battery on the timekeepers run for?
The timekeepers will last for about 7 hours on a full charge. So generally long enough for most meets.
If you have a really long meet then the cheapest and simplest option is to purchase spare batteries from eBay/Amazon, charge them up the night before and swap them in half way through your meet.
